Prof. Truth shows this week that sometimes it doesn’t take owning every console to enjoy yourself in the gaming industry. Dawning a dress and a hat — or a graduation robe and cap — Truth welcomes gamers to the next step of gaming, which may be the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. Chances are, it’s the PlayStation 3 though.
People have stolen them, killed for them, waited in rain for hours for them and even spent the child support on the next great thing in console gaming. However, so long as you enjoy your purchase, that’s all that really matters.
Enjoy the video below. Remember, it’s all about having fun guys.

congratulation graduates, btw good subject area to pick on. i pretty much agree to everything u have said, nobody has to buy all consoles to enjoy gaming or better yet to prove a point. i currently now own a wii and a ps3 and i have never been any happier, those two purchases alone satisfy all my gaming needs. and i dont need to buy another console if im perfectly happy with my current purchases

I agree with you ARC-1300. My Wii and PS3 is pretty much all I need for gaming. Sure there are a couple of titles(Mass Effect, Lost Odessy, and Blue Dragon) that I’d like to play, but I’m not going to rush out and buy a console for just 3 games

“Truth welcomes gamers to the next step of gaming, which may be the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. Chances are, it’s the PlayStation 3 though.” What about PC, Wii, DS, PSP, or any older gen platforms?
i play any game that i like from any console/ platform that i own, be it critically acclaimed or not. I call bull shit on you truthsettingufree that it is some weird satisfaction that makes me buy multiple consoles. I am not living by myself, and i have enough free time to play these games because i am a kid.
There is no 1platform (let alone console) that has all the games i want. period. i’m sorry if you believe that, but the reality is no console has all the Kingdom hearts games, all the nintendo exclusives, all the sony exclusives, AND is a good console for multiplatforms.
It is Bullshit to believe 1 console has everything i want. Therefore i call bull shit on this entire propaganda-inducing video. FYI 90 games in total from all platforms in no small handful. You are a hypocrite to spend over 2000 dollars on an entertainment system, but you refuse to spend a few hundred dollars to get multiple platforms.

First off, I didn’t write the summary. Second, we all know the main battle here is the PS3 vs 360. Wii is in it too….but kind of a different battle. At least for the viewers we’re aiming at.
Also, I get that you may have the time. You’re still living at home and do not have the time constraints that most adults do. Therefore, this video wasn’t really directed at you.
Does buying a second console imrpve the look of my home? Does another console make the quality of my TV and its picture better or bigger? Does a new console allow my TV to mount on the wall and swivel? No, no, no it doesn’t. You see, if you were older, paid for the roof over your head……..you’d know that imrpving other areas of your life or entertainment are important as well. Not to mention simply making your ONE console’s play even better.

w00t! I graduated!
I don’t think you need all of the current-gen platforms, but I don’t think it’s a bad idea not to get them. I own a 360 and PS3. I originally bought a 360 back in ‘08, and was enjoying it, but soon thereafter, a plethora of exclusives came out that peaked my interest, including LittleBigPlanet, inFAMOUS, etc. So I finally bought a PS3 in ‘09.
I say: if you want to play a game enough to buy its console, do it. If not, then don’t. Simple as that.

I agree. I bought a Wii at launch because Nintendo has been with me my entire life. I was a N64er, and then GCNer. Naturally, I go for the next Nintendo system. I fell in love with the Wii, and praised it… denying the facts about 360 and PS3 being better. Then, by 2009, I finally gave up on Nintendo and their crappy system, and realized the PS3 was the best one. I bought a PS3, and I’m much happier with that. Later last year, I almost bought a 360 just to have MW2 on both systems so I could play with my other friends that had 360. I’m glad I stopped myself, because it IS a waste of money. The Wii is an exception, I think. But having a PS3 and a 360 is really, really stupid.

sega dreamcast. it was ahead of it’s time. many would be willing to argue that we only need an older console to have fun playing video games judging by the sales of the ps2 right now. I still spend an hour or 2 on my ps2 every week. In other words, older console (and especially platforms) can be ahead of their time/almost timeless. that’s why i put older gen consoles. i’m sorry if you misunderstood me.
@truth
You still forgot the PC again. anyways, next time please say who this video is directed at please, since people like me, shokio, blackb0nd and BBC all have enough free time to play video games regularly. btw i’m sure with 2000 dollars you could improve your house in other ways than by buying a HDTV. i know you’ll disagree, but i’m just saying there are more important things for your house than HDTVs and entertainment systems.
@TheRighteousFascist
right on man. i agree with you; “I don’t think you need all of the current-gen platforms, but I don’t think it’s a bad idea not to get them.” “if you want to play a game enough to buy its console, do it. If not, then don’t.”
@thejon2280
home field advantage doesn’t change the facts. The fact is that i have the free time for video games. Therefore, just because truth doesn’t have enough free time doesn’t mean that he shouldn’t say something along the lines of “If you have the time and money, they enjoy that time and money however you to” since most of the people who have multiple consoles have enough free time for multiple consoles.

Something old can’t be the “next” step. I didn’t misunderstand anything. You’re just being entirely clueless on the subject of it all.
You can’t go down one step on the stairs and say you’re taking the next step unless you’re going backwards and/or down the stairs.
In order to take the next step up the stairs, you have to go forward.
It’s common sense.
Also — The PC is not a Gaming Console. Please stop.

@the dean
However, something old can be a continuation. Is playing online old? Is Motion Control old? is 3d old? no, they are current, even if they started before now. same with video games. Is laying on a beach to relax old (i realize old people do this, but so does every age)? Is popeye a bad show because it is old? Is mario bad because it is old? is gaming old? is digital distribution (which started on computers fyi) old? you see what i mean?
Also, on the matter of PC’s, i think you don’t understand that PCs are still the best and always will be the best be the best. the description clearly says “Truth welcomes gamers to the next step of gaming, ” PC currently has the best looking game. Therefore, by the logic truth always uses “the better the graphics, the more you’re going to be into the game”, PC is the future since it has the best graphics, as well as the widest range of controls, the best media support, the best online, the best multiplatforms, the most amount of games, easy digital distribution, support for motion control, 3D, and more; the best user generated content, access to millions of hardware add ons, a user base of most of the modern world, and so much more. I know you believe that PS3 is the best, but it clearly says “the next step of gaming”, which means that other platforms count. So, for now, PC is the Future of gaming. I know you don’t want to admit it, but it is the truth.

Epic video, Truth. I was halfway through the video before I realized the podium was fake. Some good points and some pretty funny lines in there, I was laughing out loud. Now off to Youtube to see your other videos released today.

I agree that a last-generation console can not be a step forward…it can certainly be played in the present, but it will always be played as a vintage, retrospective hobby. This is due to no new video games being published exclusively for the console (PS2/Dreamcast or otherwise) indicating that it is from a past era.
I do believe though that there’s a great present and future for the Wii and of course the PC, where we’re already getting a glimpse of the next-generation consoles.
Since we’re a PlayStation website, we’re still going to cheekily push the PS3 – but welcome gamers of all kinds! And hope much of our content is cross-over =)

The pc has been around a long time but its not a console the wii is a fad or phase as will 3D,NATAL and ARC will be but my belief even considering the 360s year head start is that the ps3 will be level or maybe even triumph in sales by this time next year.

Nice points, a little less ‘harsh’ than how you put it on YouTube, but I have to say this – the video looks like a trailer for a new EyeToy game.
Truth, ring up Sony. The PS Eye has its first AAA concept.

I agree with this guy. I owned multiple consoles the last generation & really ended not getting the most out either one. It just makes more sense to squeeze everything you can out one console. Besides each console covers all the genres. Honestly, I tried the PS3, & decided not to keep it. It is totally the superior console but I just prefer the games on the 360 , the feel of the controller, & the interface. The PS3 is cool though. Props to the PS professor, enjoy the vids…good sound wisdom.

One of the crappy things about choosing a console are some of the developers are taking shortcuts. If we are going to pay $60 a pop for a game, they need to be developed fully & graphically for each system. That’s a total whip when they just port over. Every system should be pushed to the limit so we can get the most out of the games. So what if it takes too much time…$60 is alot of cash for a game.

“the console wars is and always has been a war on personality, freedom, and choice waged by idiots against themselves and everyone else.” Anyways I don’t think the PS3 would be a graduation. besides hardware, it plays just like a 360 and it’s library is more than half multiplats. When the PS Arc comes out and they can get games that are inventive and gameplay that can only be found on the PS3, then I will say it isa graduation. But until then it’s still the same as a PS2, PS1, Xbox, Xbox 360, GameCube, so on and so forth.
