Capcom has announced Monster Hunter Portable 3rd for the PSP, bringing the monsters of the Nintendo Wii exclusive to Sony's handheld. The game was announced today at a Capcom press event in Japan. The PSP has been having a rough time in the US as of late, lagging behind other video game hardware sales and coming up short on the software side due to piracy. Today, Sony and some unnamed developers have confirmed to Joystiq.com that they have indeed reduced the RAM usage of the OS memory footprint. Those of you who have been around since December, may remember Patrick Steen writing an article detailing how Sony has reduced the usage of RAM from roughly 120MB (originally) to 50MB. It was only ten days ago that we heard a whispering from Naughty Dog that Uncharted 2: Among Theives had surpassed 2.5 million sales, trumping the performance of its first PlayStaiton 3 game, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. The Japanese developer who brought the PlayStation 3 White Knight Chronicles is reportedly working on another game for the console. This is unlikely to be the previously announced White Knight Chronicles 2, since Level 5's president Akihiro Hino added that the in-development game had yet to be announced.
