With Microsoft releasing its end of fiscal 2010 results, we can see how Sony's PlayStation 3 has done in relation to the Xbox 360. Surprisingly, despite strong sales in the US, the 360 has already been beaten by the PS3 with three months to spare. We've already seen Sony's end of year results. Their fiscal-year ended in March and the PS3 had sold 13 million units, spurred on by a price cut and... more.
  • Is this Gran Turismo 5 or real-life? [UPDATE] 47 CommentsPosted by Patrick Steen on July 6, 2010 under PS3 News, PlayStation 3
Gran Turismo 5 is certainly shaping up to be one hell of a sim racer. Coming to the PlayStation 3 this November, the game's premium cars approach reality, so we thought we'd give you a quick little test to see if you could tell GT5 from reality. GT5's premium cars are a site to behold - even if its standard cars a little less impressive. The game's graphics make comparing it with reality very h... more.
  • GT5 standard cars will NOT have cockpit view 25 CommentsPosted by Patrick Steen on June 28, 2010 under PlayStation 3
Ok, the speculation has to end. Numerous confused posts on the matter of whether Gran Turismo 5's 800+ standard cards will or will not have a cockpit camera view. An update to the official Gran Turismo website has put those questions to bed. The vehicles in Gran Turismo 5 come in two classes - premium and standard. The premium cars, all 200+ of them, are insanely detailed PS4 quality vehicles. ... more.
  • Keighley on Infamous 2: Wow, blown away! Feels like Uncharted 2 11 CommentsPosted by Patrick Steen on June 16, 2010 under PlayStation 3
Sucker Punch is back with InFamous 2 - the electricity charged super hero game that's had quite the makeover. Graphically it's a more impressive and cohesive game compared to the studio's first PlayStation 3 attempt. Geoff Keighley of GameTrailers TV fame agrees. Sony showed off the first gameplay trailer for InFamous 2 during its E3 press conference - you can find this below. The game was actu... more.

The game will be fully playable in 3D and finally, it'll be out very soon. New footage was shown of the GT5, but we didn't care. What we wanted to know was a release date. We got one. • PlayStation Move: Full list of 34 supporting games 11 CommentsPosted by Patrick Steen on June 15, 2010 under PlayStation 3
During Sony's E3 press conference, the company decided to show off new PlayStation Move games - not old ones. But we've tracked down all the games that will support Move over the next year and there's more than you think (with some surprises). These motion controlled games included Sorcery (think Harry Potter) - the Move controller was used to wave around the character's wand. You can also use ... more.
  • Gran Turismo 5’s Menus, UI, Driver Names & Gameplay 6 CommentsPosted by Patrick Steen on June 8, 2010 under PlayStation 3
A Gran Turismo 5 release date will be making its way to our screens this E3. That's a fact. Whether it'll stick is be another question, but we sure hope so. What we really want to know about the game is its ins-and-outs. How many tracks actually are there? Will all cars have a damage model? The Polyphony Digital and Sony press team hasn't done the best job at making these metrics clear. We can't p... more.

Well all our predictions are coming true one by one before we were even able to tease you with them. Killzone 3, LittleBigPlanet 2, and now Infamous 2. Sucker Punch will be following up their first PlayStation 3 game with a sequel to the super-powered sandbox game. The game has been revealed before Sony's E3 press conference (what are they leaving for it?) by GameInformer magazine. It's their c... more.

The first Killzone 3 trailer has been released, demonstrating the game's new brutal melee combat in a dark and stylised fashion. The trailer features CG footage, but makes use of the game's actual animations. These are the melee kills you'll be performing from a first-person perspective. Impressive huh? We just can't wait to see them in-game. That's an opportunity we'll get next week on 11 June... more.

It's the game that's been on its way for what feels like forever, but soon we'll be blessed. Polyphony Digital's game could be out before the snow hits the ground. Hell, it's the release period we imagined, but with LittleBigPlanet 2 scheduled for Winter 2010, it's good to... more.
  • Killzone 3 scheduled for 2011 release 10 CommentsPosted by Patrick Steen on May 24, 2010 under PlayStation 3
Just in case you were wondering as to when Killzone 3 will release, you won't be seeing the game this year. Killzone 3, formally announced by Sony and Guerilla Games today, will launch with full stereoscopic 3D support. The question is what percentage of PS3 gamers will actually own a 3D-capable TV when the game launches? Not many will own one this year, and probably not that many next year. ... more.
  • Killzone 3 is “properly f***ing nuts” 16 CommentsPosted by Patrick Steen on May 24, 2010 under PlayStation 3
Now that's a Brit statement if ever I read one. Killzone 3 was leaked to the web last week and now the press has ripped up their NDAs, thrown them in the bin and  let loose with hands-on impressions. The title quotation comes by the way of our friends at VG247. Patrick Garratt was lucky enough to visit Guerilla Games in Amsterdam and give Killzone 3's fourth level a whirl. Featuring jetpacks... more.
